Quotations
- Scanlan: You like me because I make jokes, and I play songs, and I give yous a warm place to stay at nighttime, and I feed yous fucking chicken, and I heal you in battle. But you don't really care almost me. Come on. Allow's exist honest with each other. You don't really give a shit about me. [ ... ] We traveled into the fucking nine hells to get Pike a set of armor. We went and battled a city of vampires and then Percy could experience good about his name. We fought goliaths for Grog. We've traveled beyond planes of existence so you lot could fix your fucking daddy issues. Simply you've never done anything for me. Ever! You've never risked anything, you don't know me, you lot don't know annihilation about me. What's my mother'south name? What's her name? Like shooting fish in a barrel question. Died in front of me. Killed by a goblin. Biggest role of my life. What'due south her name? My father. Is he alive or dead? How old am I? Where's my fucking canis familiaris? [ ... ] It's fine. I'm just a lilliputian hungover from being dead, and I just have been thinking for a while, and, y'all know. Grog has Pike. Vax has Keyleth. Percy has Vex. But Scanlan has no one, and I had 1 chance at one real relationship with my daughter, and I experience similar you've gone and fucked it upwards, too. Because you lot don't really know me, and you don't really know what my relationship is with her, and what I've promised her, or annihilation, actually. And it's fine. When I met you all, I was only a funny trivial human being playing songs, and that's all I'll e'er actually be. And that'southward okay, because I tin can accept care of myself.[3]
- Taryon: Y'all at that place! You lot! Hi! Wow! Who are you all? Look at this, magical items from caput to toe. Why, I've never seen anything quite like it.
Vax: Pouring information technology on a fiddling thick, friend. What'due south up?
Taryon: Doty, come hither, volition you lot? Take this downwardly.[four] - Taryon: I haven't settled on a title even so. It will either exist-- Tary's Adventures. It's sort of lame, sort of lame. Or information technology could be Daring Adventures of Darrington or it could exist Tarry On with Taryon. Or something like that. I'm working on the championship -- I have a while to finish it.
Vex: (sarcastically) They're all very clever.
Percy: The Daring Trials and Tribulations of Taryon Darrington.
Taryon: That's fantastic! Doty, please write that down.[5] - Taryon: And with that, we embarked on our new gamble! The Adventures of-- what was it once again?
Percy: (sighs)
Vax: What a dillweed...
Taryon: This is going to be fun, fun, fun![6]
